yamahadisklavierenspirehomeYamaha Disklavier ENSPIRE

Yamaha Disklavier ENSPIRE™ is the seventh generation of Disklavier pianos. Replacing the popular E3 series, Disklavier ENSPIRE is designed as a high-resolution reproducing piano system with a new streamlined design eliminating the control box of previous generations, while an intuitive app enables it to be controlled  by Apple® iOS and Android™ devices, as well as PCs and Macs.

The controller app provides access to over 500 built-in songs and over 6,000 performances that can be downloaded directly to the instrument from the Yamaha MusicSoft online store.  Streaming radio and video services enable access to a variety of performances that have included the Monterey Jazz Festival, the Newport Music Festival, and a special Elton John concert. These performances can be experienced “live” or on-demand on the Disklavier ENSPIRE, all in the comfort of the home.

The instrument also possesses, Yamaha’s AccuPlay technology, an integrated DSP servo drive system that monitors key, hammer, pedal and solenoid movement during playback and automatically adjusts in real-time to ensure accurate performance reproduction. This means that the Disklavier ENSPIRE can recreate nuances of a performance – from the softest pianissimo passages right through to fortissimos. It also includes WPS Wi-Fi adapter adds easy wireless connectivity to the controller app directly or through a wireless network, USB audio recording function, and a self-calibrating record and playback system.

Yamaha Disklavier ENSPIRE is available in 14 models, 48” uprights and grand pianos ranging from 5’0” (DGB1K) to the flagship 9’ Concert Grand (DCFX).

zildjiankcustomhybrid_lehihat_pairZildjian 10th Anniversary K Custom Hybrid Cymbals

The Avedis Zildjian Company is celebrating the 10th anniversary of the K Custom Hybrid line of cymbals.  Developed in 2006 in collaboration with drummer, Akira Jimbo, the K Custom Hybrid models combine an unlathed, brilliant finish on the inner half of each cymbal with the traditionally finished K Zildjian lathing on the outer half.  This results in the possibility of two different sound dynamics depending where the cymbal is played.  Additionally, the unlathed section is designed to help to control the wash and sustain, rendering them ideal for recording sessions and live performances.

To commemorate this anniversary, Zildjian once again worked with Akira Jimbo to create a Limited Edition pair of 14” K Custom Hybrid Reversible HiHats.  Unlike standard HiHats, the Reversible Hats do not have a designated “top” or “bottom” cymbal, meaning each is interchangeable, giving you greater variety of tonal possibilities with a single pair.

On one cymbal, the inner half features the popular half lathed/half unlathed finish found with the current K Custom Hybrid line.

On the other cymbal, the inner half has a traditional finish, while the outer half is unlathed with a brilliant finish. This cymbal also features the “reverse Mastersound edge hammering” which is designed to eliminate airlock where areas between hammer marks strike the other cymbal, creating a softer Mastersound tone.

The Limited Edition 14” K Custom Reversible HiHats are now available until the end of 2016.  For more information on these cymbals and the K Custom Hybrid line, please
