2017 Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival Series Ticket Sales Announced

November 22, 2016

PrintThe University of Idaho Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival  tickets are available.  The full 2017 series of evening concerts will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 23-25, 2017, in the ASUI-Kibbie Activity Center, on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 19.

A series ticket allows the purchaser to enjoy all three nights of concerts and provides the benefit of early seat selection and savings over buying individual concert tickets. Prices range from $75 for outer stand seats to $120 for club-level seating. Special UI employee, student and youth series pricing is available.

This year’s festival, which was re-incorporated into the nationally accredited Lionel Hampton School of Music in UI’s College of Letters, Arts and Social Sciences, celebrates its 50th year of jazz music education. The evening shows will not only feature world-renown jazz artists but will also highlight the day’s student competition winners on the festival’s main stage.

Four-time Grammy Award winner Esperanza Spalding headlines the event, closing the festival with a performance on Saturday, Feb. 25. Other headlining acts include the critically acclaimed vocal group New York Voices and René Marie and Experiment in Truth.

Tickets can be purchased through the University of Idaho Ticket Office located in the Kibbie Dome, by phone at 1-88-88-UIDAHO or online at www.uidaho.edu/ticketoffice.
