DC Jazz Festival Adds Jon Batiste & Stay Human And Brass-a-Holics

The DC Jazz Festival (DCJF) has announced a second wave of artists for its final weekend lineup for DC JazzFest at The Wharf presented by Events DC, with Jon Batiste & Stay Human and the Brass-A-Holics set to perform at The Anthem on Saturday, June 15. The 2019 DC Jazz Festival dates are June 7 to 16.

Also just announced for The Wharf are Jazz Messengers alum Ralph Peterson & GenNext Big Bandcelebrating the Art Blakey Centennial, a host of international artists on the International Jazz Stage,Sean Jones Dizzy Spellz, the 2018 DCJazzPrix winning band Cornerstore, Tarus Mateen, and some of the area’s finest youth jazz ensembles.

This second wave of stellar artists joins previously announced Snarky Puppy, Lean On Me: José James celebrates Bill Withers, tenor sax titan Joshua Redman Quartet with Aaron Goldberg, Reuben Rogers & Gregory Hutchinson, singer-songwriter Michael Franks, drummer Terri Lyne Carrington & Social Science, poll-winning vibes master Stefon Harris & Blackout, and the piano artistry of 14-year old Joey Alexander.

“The signature of any great festival is bringing together exceptional thematic ideas, honoring great historic traditions, introducing audiences to the next wave of artistry, and giving fans a great experience! We will certainly cover all those bases with our highly anticipated monumental 15th anniversary festival,” said DCJF executive director Sunny Sumter.
