The DC Jazz Festival has announced  the schedule for Jazz in the ‘Hoods Presented by Events DC,  a jazz series that unites all four quadrants and eight Wards of Washington, DC with jazz music.  The full schedule can be viewed at http://dcjazzfest.org/jazz-in-the-hoods

“We’re excited to continue our partnership with the DC Jazz Festival in presenting Jazz in the ‘Hoods for the eighth-consecutive year,” said Erik A. Moses, senior vice president and managing director of sports, entertainment and special events at Events DC. “This week-long event is a one-of-a-kind experience that rallies residents and visitors together in the city’s most diverse and culturally-rich neighborhoods to celebrate the distinct music genre of jazz.”

The Jazz in the ‘Hoods series has fostered many ties between DC clubs, restaurants, hotels, and museums. In addition, The Kennedy Center’s Millennium Stage will host the free Bass-ically Yours series this year.

“Jazz in the ‘Hoods is a classic manifestation of the DC JazzFest’s diverse, ‘big tent’ offerings, partnering with vibrant spaces and adventurous presenters around town to bring exciting artistry to our community,” said Willard Jenkins, the DCJF artistic director.
