Fred Rogers Productions And WQED Donate Mister Rogers’ Piano To Manchester Craftsmen’s Guild

Fred Rogers Productions and WQED have partnered to donate the piano played by renowned local jazz musician Johnny Costa on “Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood” to Manchester Craftsmen’s Guild (MCG). The piano, a Steinway Model B signed by the makers, was played by Costa from 1987-2000 in the WQED studio, where every episode of the children’s television series was filmed. MCG has arranged to have the piano played by the Herb Alpert Band on the concert stage during Alpert’s upcoming, at-capacity performances with his wife, Grammy Award-winning vocalist Lani Hall on August 6 and 7, 2019.
