Joe Albany Biopic Opening in NY/LA

On October 24 and 31 in New York and Los Angeles, respectively, Low Down, the film portrayal based on the memoirs of Amy-Jo Albany (Elle Fanning) about her father, famed jazz pianist, Joe Albany (John Hawkes) and his struggles with drug addiction, opens on the big screen after having debuted in January 2014 at Sundance Film Festival, where it won the Cinematography Award: U.S. Dramatic.

The film tells Albany’s story from his young daughter’s point of view as the jazz pianist struggled with heroin addiction, while performing with Charlie Parker, Miles Davis and Charles Mingus. The film was executive produced by members of the Red Hot Chili Peppers Anthony Kiedis and Flea and produced by Epoch Films.
