Juilliard Jazz to Present ‘The Music of Fletcher Henderson, Eddie Durham, and Bill Challis’

Juilliard Jazz will present “The Music of Fletcher Henderson, Eddie Durham, and Bill Challis” with guest conductor Vince Giordano and the Juilliard Jazz Orchestra on Thursday, October 12, 2017, at 7:30 p.m. in the Peter Jay Sharp Theater.

The Juilliard Jazz Orchestra members are Zoe Obadia (alto saxophone, clarinet), Alexa Tarantino (alto saxophone, clarinet), Evan Atwell-Harris (tenor saxophone, clarinet), Gideon Tazelaar(tenor saxophone), and Immanuel Wilkins (baritone saxophone, clarinet); David Adewumi, Noah Halpern, Giveton Gelin, and Anthony Hervey (trumpets); Sam Chess, Jasim Perales, Rashaan Salaam, and Jeffery Miller (trombones); Jake Kelberman (guitar, banjo); Julius Rodriguez (piano); Adam Olszewski (bass); and Kyle Benford (drums). Joining the Juilliard Jazz Orchestra will be Juilliard violinists George Meyer, Andi Zhang, and Ji Soo Choi. James Burton III is the resident conductor.

Tickets are $30 and available at juilliard.edu/calendar. Tickets are free for Juilliard students; non-Juilliard full-time students may purchase tickets for $15.
