NEC’c Jazz Studies and Contemporary Improvisation Departments Announce Spring Season

New England Conservatory’s (NEC) jazz studies and contemporary improvisation departments announce  over 50 concerts for the 2017 spring season beginning January 30 through May 2, 2017.

Highlights include a 150th Birthday Celebration with NEC alumni Lake Street Dive, a musical reimagining of Alfred Hitchcock’s Vertigo, a concert of music by Tadd Dameronfeaturing the NEC Jazz Orchestra, Cardew’s The Great Learning; and In the Mix and theCI Salon Series, 42 one-hour concerts featuring exceptional student ensembles from the Jazz and Contemporary Improvisation Departments. In addition, there will be master classes by Jason Moran, Peter Evans and Dave Holland.   All concerts, except Lake Street Dive’s 150th birthday celebration, are free and open to the public. Concerts are at 7:30 p.m. unless otherwise indicated.
