Nevada School of the Arts (NSA) is paying tribute to American jazz pioneer Charlie Parker’s 100th birthday by presenting a live performance of the legendary “Bird With Strings” recordings, at Myron’s Jazz Cabaret (inside Smith Center for the Performing Arts) on August 28-29, 2020.

Led by internationally-recognized music director Justin DiCioccio, these legendary orchestral recordings of Charlie “Bird” Parker will be brought to life by guest soloist and bop-oriented saxophonist Dick Oatts, who will be accompanied by NSA affiliated performers.

“Charlie Parker was one of the most important figures in the development of jazz and in particular Bop. As Las Vegas is known for a place of budding jazz musicians, we are thrilled and honored to be bringing this performance to the Smith Center for the Performing Arts,” shares Patrick Duffy, president and CEO of Nevada School of the Arts. “The fact that this will also be Dick Oatts’ first performance in Las Vegas is the cherry on top.”
