Christian Wissmuller • News • November 22, 2021

The Ohio Music Education Association shares the news that both Roger Hall, Executive Director, and Greg Taylor, Director of Technology, have announced their intention to retire by June 2023. We are immensely grateful for their many decades of service to our organization and for such advance notice, which will allow us to fill their roles and strategically plan a smooth transition. The new staff members will have the opportunity to train with Roger and Greg over the next year, which should facilitate their success.

Today OMEA begins the search for its next Executive Director and a Technology Assistant. The person hired as Executive Director must be a visionary leader who can work collaboratively with the Board of Trustees, State Board, staff, and other key stakeholders to execute the strategic direction, leadership, and day-to-day operations of the association. The person hired as the Technology Assistant will work with the Director of Technology on the OMEA website and all technology aspects woven throughout the organization, with the potential to assume the role of Director of Technology by June 2023.

Please see the attached job descriptions for more details and application procedures. All applications received by the stated deadlines will be given full consideration.  Applications received after those dates will be considered until the position is filled. Questions can be directed to Ann Usher, OMEA President, at president@omea-ohio.org. Both Roger and Greg have left a lasting legacy on which OMEA will build and grow. It speaks to their dedication and care for that future that they have given us the chance to strategically plan for their successors. Please share widely!
