jacksonvillejazzBuffet Group USA announced that New York-based jazz clarinet artist Felix Peikli will be the headliner artist at the 2015 Jacksonville Jazz Festival. Felix will be the featured performer the evening of Friday, May 22 at 7pm with his band, The Royal Flush Quintet, on the Groovin’ Stage (Bay and Newnan Streets). He will also be appearing at numerous other Jacksonville Jazz Festival events during the weekend.

In addition to his Friday evening headliner performance, Felix will also be one of the featured artists at the Jacksonville Jazz Festival Music Clinic, held the afternoon of Friday May 22 from 1 to 3pm at the club Underbelly. Sponsored by Buffet Group, students and jazz enthusiasts of all ages are invited to engage one-on-one with Felix and his rhythm section as he discusses improvisation and other jazz concepts. Space is limited and reservations are required for the event — call 904.630.3690 for more information.

The evening of Saturday, May 23 sees Felix performing at “Jazz After Dark” from 9pm to 1am, hosted by the Grape and Grain Exchange’s The Parlour in Jacksonville’s San Marco neighborhood. The event will also feature an open jam session with Felix later that evening and local players and Jazz Festival attendees are encouraged to bring their instruments to join in.

Felix will also be appearing at the Buffet Group USA booth, located on East Bay Street, during the Jacksonville Jazz Festival. Festival attendees will be able to meet Felix and learn more about Buffet Group wind instruments, as well as the play-along app Urban Play. Felix’s appearance at the Buffet Group USA booth will also mark the debut of a new play-along tune written by Felix exclusively for Urban Play.
