Rome Neal’s Banana Puddin’ Jazz Honors Late Playwright August Wilson with “Seven Jazzy Guitars” on May 25

On Tuesday May 25 at 7pm EST, Rome Neal’s Banana Puddin’ Jazz will honor the memory of playwright August Wilson with a livestream show titled “Seven Jazzy Guitars.”

Featured artists will include Keith Johnston, Benjamin Lapidus, Guy Davis,

Ayodele Maakheru, Kevin McNeal, Richard Miller, and Lou Vega. Also featured: a monologue by Jerome Preston Bates, who performed the main role as blues singer Floyd Barton in Wilson’s play during its 1995 premiere at Chicago’s Goodman Theatre, and again for the play’s run on Broadway.
