Wallace Teaches Four-Week ‘The Jazz Effect’ Class This Fall

Wayne Wallace will teach a four-week course titled “The Jazz Effect” this fall, where he will speak on “the roots, culture and evolution of jazz and related forms,” as well as jazz’s “role as a catalyst for political and social change.”

Classes take place at 6 p.m. on the following Tuesdays: November 17 and 24, and December 1 and 8. Week one will discuss Black music, week two will discuss the jazz effect in the 20th century, week  three will discuss jazz, funk, and politics, and week four will discuss lingua franca (the jazz diaspora in the 21st century).
